General Terms and Conditions (GTC) of the Schlossresidenz
1. scope of application
1.1 These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all contracts for the rental of apartments and suites of the Schlossresidenz for accommodation as well as to all other services, deliveries and ancillary services provided by the Operator for the Guest in this context.
1.2 The subletting or re-letting of the rented premises and their use for purposes other than accommodation shall require the prior written consent of the Operator.
1.3 Deviating terms and conditions of the guest shall only apply if this has been expressly agreed in writing.
2. conclusion of contract
2.1 The contract is concluded when the Schlossresidenz accepts the guest’s booking request. The operator is free to confirm the room booking in writing or in text form.
2.2 The booking confirmation, the booked tariff and these GTC in the version valid at the time of booking are decisive for the content of the contract.
2.3 Individual agreements shall only apply if they have been expressly confirmed in writing or in text form.
3. prices and terms of payment
3.1 Unless expressly stated otherwise, the agreed prices include the applicable statutory value added tax.
3.2 If the period between conclusion and fulfillment of the contract exceeds four months and the price generally charged by the operator for comparable services increases, the operator may increase the contractually agreed price appropriately, but by no more than 8%.
3.3 Invoices of the Operator are payable within 7 days of receipt without deduction, unless otherwise agreed.
3.4 The operator may request an advance payment to secure a booking. This will be credited in full against the stay.
3.5 The operator is entitled to demand an appropriate advance payment or security deposit upon conclusion of the contract or thereafter.
4. check-in, check-out and use of the premises
4.1 Check-in is from 3:00 p.m., check-out by 10:30 a.m. at the latest. Earlier check-ins or later check-outs require prior consent and may be charged separately.
4.2 Unregistered guests are not permitted in the apartments and suites.
4.3 There is a night-time rest period from 21:00 to 06:00.
4.4 The Schlossresidenz is an adult residence. Stays are generally reserved for guests aged 18 and over.
4.5 The guest undertakes to treat the rooms and facilities provided with care and to comply with the house rules.
5 Cancellation and rebooking conditions
5.1 Standard postings
- Cancellation free of charge up to 7 days before arrival.
- If canceled between 7 days and 24 hours before arrival, 50% of the total price will be charged.
- If canceled within 24 hours prior to arrival or in case of no-show, 100% of the total price will be charged.
5.2 Flex tariff
- Bookings in the Flex fare can be rebooked free of charge.
- Rebookings are made at the same or higher booking value.
- Rebookings are possible within three years and are subject to availability.
5.3 Trade fair times
Special conditions apply during certain trade fair periods:
- Bookings cannot be canceled.
- The Flex tariff is not available.
- The full accommodation price (100 %) will also be charged in the event of a no-show.
6. breakfast and additional services
6.1 Whether breakfast is part of the booking or is charged separately is determined exclusively by the booking confirmation or the rate booked.
6.2 Changes to the breakfast model apply exclusively to bookings made after the introduction of the respective change.
6.3 Additional services that guests book or pay for independently on site via QR code, payment link, terminal or comparable self-service systems are deemed to have been ordered with binding effect.
6.4 Cancellations or refunds of such independently triggered services at a later date are generally excluded.
6.5 If the guest independently books or pays for services that are already part of their booked rate, the operator is not obliged to carry out an automatic reversal. Any review or correction shall be carried out exclusively on a case-by-case basis.
7. ban on smoking and pets
7.1 The Schlossresidenz is a smoke-free building. Smoking is prohibited in all interior rooms.
7.2 Pets are not permitted in the apartments and suites.
8. use of the castle park and facilities
8.1 The castle park is exclusively available to guests of the castle residence.
8.2 Events, photographs or film recordings that go beyond private use require the prior consent of the operator.
9. liability
9.1 The operator shall only be liable for damages resulting from intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty, to the extent permitted by law.
9.2 No liability is accepted for lost, forgotten or stolen items.
9.3 The guest is liable for all damage caused by him, his fellow travelers or visitors.
10. invoicing and invoice changes
10.1 Invoices are sent automatically to the e-mail address provided at the time of booking.
10.2 In the case of bookings via booking platforms, dispatch to the e-mail address stored there or to the forwarding address provided by the platform shall be deemed to have been duly effected.
10.3 The guest is obliged to provide complete and correct billing information at the time of booking.
10.4 There is no entitlement to multiple resending of invoices that have already been sent.
10.5 Subsequent changes to invoice addresses or invoice data are only possible in exceptional cases and may be subject to a processing fee.
10.6 There is no entitlement to immediate or repeated processing of subsequent invoice amendments.
11. special services and administrative expenses
11.1 A reasonable processing fee may be charged for extraordinary additional organizational expenses.
11.2 This applies in particular to:
- subsequent changes to invoice addresses or invoice data,
- repeated requests for documents already sent,
- Manual processing of independently triggered postings or payments,
- Individual support for self-check-in or self-service processes,
- multiple processing of the same transaction at the guest’s request.
12. additional persons
12.1 The basic occupancy depends on the booking confirmation.
12.2 For additional persons a surcharge of 70 € per night will be charged.
12.3 Unregistered guests are not permitted.
13. guest’s duty to cooperate and notification of complaints
13.1 The guest is obliged to inform the operator or the responsible staff immediately of any recognizable defects, complaints or deviations from the booking service during the stay.
13.2 Only in this way can the operator be given the opportunity to examine the facts of the case and – if possible – take appropriate remedial action.
13.3 If no such notification is made, although it would have been objectively possible to clarify or remedy the situation during the stay, no claims for reduction, reimbursement, damages or other compensation can be asserted.
13.4 Complaints that are only made after departure, even though notification during the stay would have been reasonable, can therefore not be considered.
13.5 Subjective impressions, personal tastes or individual expectations of the guest do not constitute a defect. This applies in particular to personal assessments with regard to location, style, decoration, atmosphere, design, ambience, breakfast concept or other perceptible circumstances that are not objectively relevant to performance.
13.6 Properties, features and conditions of the accommodation that are recognizable on the website, in booking portals, in pictures, descriptions, location details or other publicly accessible information or are to be expected according to the type of house are deemed to be known and accepted upon booking, unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
13.7 Public reviews, subsequent complaints by e-mail or via booking portals as well as comments after departure do not replace timely notification of defects during the stay.
14. final provisions
14.1 Amendments or additions to the contract or these GTC must be made in writing.
14.2 The place of performance and jurisdiction is Hanover, to the extent permitted by law.
14.3 Should individual provisions of these GTC be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
